“I try to write early in the day when I find it easier to focus and feel more hopeful.” Oooh, what a good point! Hope!

Thanks, Marion. We're all different in terms of what works for each of us. Some folks seem to be able to write into the evening and night. For me, the key is to observe what is working and what isn't and do what works. And know that changes with different kinds of projects. Sometimes I tend to do what I've done before even if it isn't working. For example, I know physical breaks (e.g. walks) help me, but I will often sit and keep trying to write when exhausted. Time to walk restores my perspective and brings insight and creative thinking.

Thank you for these insights into your writing process, Sheila. I used to be an early morning writer as well, but lately my writing schedule has shifted to be more mid-day and afternoon.
